There are many different forms of yoga. Personally, I feel most connected to a mixture of Yin Yoga and Mediyoga.
In Yin Yoga, the fascia and connective tissue of the body are stretched and strengthened. It is a quiet form of yoga that is mostly performed lying or sitting.
Yin Yoga aims to improve mobility and flexibility, but also to relieve pain and reduce stress.
In Yin Yoga, the positions are held for 3-5 minutes to stretch the fascia and calm the nervous system.
Yan Yoga, for example, is a more active form of yoga.
Mediyoga or medical yoga is an evidence-based (evidence-oriented) method that, according to published research, is supposed to reduce stress, restlessness, anxiety, and pain. It is also said to lower blood pressure and improve quality of life and sleep quality.
Medical yoga comes directly from Kundalini yoga and consists of a structured combination of conscious awareness, breathing exercises, movement and meditation. It is a very quiet form of yoga.
The aim of the training is to increase the quality of life through improved physical and mental function.
Since 2022, I have been a certified Mediyoga instructor.
In sheep yoga, our yoga session takes place between our friendly and curious sheep and lambs.
Sheep spread a great calm energy and simply make you happy. The sounds of the grazing sheep and also the one or other "mow" has its very own calming effect.
Sometimes one or the other sheep comes to the participants during our yoga session and wants to get a few cuddles.
It has been proven that spending time with animals can reduce stress levels and have an uplifting effect. Your own well-being can be improved in this way.
